She resigned from her full time job as a software developer, to go on tour & become South Africa’s first Brazilian Jiu Jitsu Black Belt. Her titles include 4 times Jiu Jitsu World Champion, ADCC World Champion, FILA Grappling World Champion, Pan American Champion & Grapplers Quest World Champion.
Penny has been practicing yoga for over 10 years and is a Yoga Alliance certified teacher through CorePower Yoga. She specializes in leading beginner level dynamic Vinyasa series, meaning breath is linked to movement. Ideal for anyone new to yoga and interested in its benefits, this moderately paced class allows you to learn the fundamental Yoga postures and principles that create a successful and effective yoga practice. You will build strength, increase flexibility, and find focus.
Penny is also certified through CorePower Yoga to teach Yoga Pilates, a class that fuses the energy and movement of a Vinyasa Yoga class with the core stabilizing and regenerative dynamics of Pilates. Attention is paid to building strength and endurance in the body’s core muscles which promotes body awareness, protects the back and develops better posture. Yoga Pilates is excellent for strengthening, lengthening and balancing the muscles in our body.
Additionally, Penny teaches a variety of mixed level classes & workshops, including Self Defense, Natural Gymnastics & Jiu Jitsu.
